Role of police Leadership in the protection of human Rights

Leadership in Police is totally different and difficult from that in any other walk of life. It is so in as much as the ability to inspire and motivate the rank and file is so demanding that sacrificing of life in the line of duty is part of their occupational hazard. In the specific context of upholding Human Rights also, the police leadership has to set an example and be a role model for the subordinate ranks. Or else, they cannot otherwise enforce observance of Human Rights by their subordinates. Police leaders must themselves be humane, ethical, and possess high qualities of human excellence. They must live up to the definition of a man of character: "An honest man; a man with a sense of duties and obligations of his position, whatever it may be; a man who tells the truth; a man who gives to others their due; a man considerate to the weak; a man who has principles and stands by them; a man not to elated by good fortune and not too depressed by bad; a man who is loyal and a ma...

Caste Movements in India

The movements of caste unions arose out of various conflicts in Indian society. They basically preserve traditions and divide people. But some cases require changes. The anti-Brahmin Justice Party in Madras was loyal to the government in the opinion of the British rulers. Dual administration prevailed in that state. Harmony between officials and elected ministers   Another example of early collaboration was Punjab, where Fazal Hussain's Unionist Party was able to unite castes and Muslims to build a powerful agrarian (landlords, rich farmers) lobby against urban nationalism. Bhaskara Rao Jadhav's non-Brahmin party in Maharashtra tried to maintain a similar loyalist role. The Congress has accused the Brahmins of hiding their aspirations. Certain aspects of Tilak's theory lend strength to this charge. Non-Brahmin leaders like the Justice Party and Jadhav were interested in culturalizations that imitated the upper castes towards reservation in jobs in practice, but popular m...

Communalism in India

A negative development was the rise of Hindu-Muslim sectarianism during this period which was more intense than ever before. Large-scale anti-Hindu violence broke out in September 1924 at Kohat in the North-West Frontier Province. 155 people were killed. Between April and July 1926, violence broke out three times in Calcutta. 138 people were killed. In the same year there were clashes in Dhaka, Patna, Rawalpindi and Delhi. During 1923-27, UP was a state plagued by communal strife, with more than 91 communal riots. The reason given outside is the demand of Muslims not to play musical instruments in front of mosques. Hindu pressure to ban cow slaughter. Religious organizations sprung up like umbrellas. Political alliances are also formed on religious lines. Even during 1919-22 when Hindu Muslim brotherhood was at its peak, Congress and Khilapat remained separate organizations. They are together because of the alliance between the leaders. When leaders fight there are internal divisi...

Partition of Bengal

Curzon's action has created much controversy among historians of the partition of Bengal. It is said that division was done for administrative convenience. Supporters But contemporary and later nationalists say that division was done to divide and rule. Until 1903, administrative considerations were the main focus of the government. The evolution of Bengal has worried many people at different times. (Since 1860 there have been sporadic proposals to reduce the size of the Bengal Presidency). The 1874 Partition of Assam Silites, and in 1896-97 the interest in developing Assam as a province increased with the proposal of William Wards, the Chief Commissioner of Assam, to annex the Chittagong region, Dacca, and Memon Singh to his province. Ward's proposal was revived on 28 March 1903 by the new Lieutenant Governor of Bengal, Andrew Fraser. 3 Curzon agreed in his directive on the territorial redistribution of India (June 1, 1903). First announced by a letter from the Home Secretary...

CLATHRATESCOMPOUNDS OF NOBLE GASES

These  gas form a number of compounds In which the gases are Trapped With In Cavities Of Crystral lattices of certain organic and Inorganic Substance .SuchCompounds Are Called Clathrates or cage compounds .when o-dihydroxy beta quinol is allowed to crystallise from its solution in water in presence of heavier noble gases [Ar,Kr,Xe]under a pressure of !0 -40 atmosphres , the atoms of noble gases get entrapped  with in the lottice of quinol crystals .Thus ,crystals are quite stable .But on heating ,the gas escapes and quinol remain behind such .                                                                                                                              ...

What does 'Dead Sea' mean? The Dead Sea?

Image
Friends Now I am going to explain to you about the Dead Sea so let us know some of those details? 80 km between Jordan and Israel. The longest saltwater lake is called the 'Dead Sea'. It is 16 km. Spread to width. This Dead Sea contains 9 times more salt than normal oceans. Hence no creature lived in it. There is no change in the salt concentration of the sea, despite the fact that millions of tons of fresh water flow daily from Jordan through several river streams. The reason is that there is no possibility of water going out of this Dead Sea. The water is constantly dripping to the intensity of the sun leaving salt. This does not mean that the Dead Sea density will increase much. Fear that we may jump into it and drown Its water level, which was a tourist center until some time ago, has been gradually declining. The lake is receding further and further as the water recedes into the deepest part of the globe. As a result, groundwater resources are also being polluted and turne...
